What is “Donate a Wheelchair”?

It's a way to fund a wheelchair, support chair or mobility aid for someone who cannot afford one. Your donation is matched to a real, verified beneficiary and delivered through Frido's network of NGO and hospital partners.

Who do these donations help?

Elderly people with mobility loss, adults living with physical disability, children with cerebral palsy or developmental disabilities, and the family caregivers who support them every day. We also invite donations for army veterans and para-athletes.

How is a beneficiary selected?

Beneficiaries are identified and vetted by our onboarded NGO and hospital partners, who work directly with the communities they serve. Frido does not select beneficiaries independently — we rely on our partners' on-ground assessment.

How much does it cost to donate a wheelchair or aid?

Donation pricing is lower than the price listed online for the same product — Frido absorbs the difference, because this is work we genuinely want to be part of. Share your details through the form and our team will confirm the exact amount for the aid you'd like to sponsor.

Can I choose exactly what I want to donate?

Yes. Browse our categories and products, pick the aid you'd like to fund, and mention it when you get in touch — we'll confirm pricing and match it to a beneficiary who needs exactly that.

How do I pay for my donation?

Once you share your details through the form, our team will reach out with the confirmed amount and guide you through the payment process.

Is my donation eligible for a tax deduction?

Individual and HNI donations are eligible for a deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, if applicable to your tax regime. Our team will guide you through your receipt when they reach out after you submit the form.

How will I know my donation actually reached someone?

Once the aid is delivered, we share confirmation with you — including a photo of the beneficiary receiving the gifted product, along with your message card, so you can see your donation reach them.

What happens to the message I write for the beneficiary?

Your message is delivered along with the donated aid, on a card that carries your name. Where the family wishes, it's read aloud to them at the time of delivery, and many families keep it after.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes. Let us know when you get in touch if you'd prefer your name isn't shared with the beneficiary, and we'll honour that.

Can this be part of our company's CSR programme?

Yes — this is one of the core ways companies and PSUs partner with Frido under CSR. Use the “Donate as a company” option in the form to share your details, and our CSR & Government Partnerships team will get in touch with a tailored proposal.

Terms & Conditions

1. Nature of a Donation

A donation is not a purchase for the donor's own use. Funds are applied to a mobility aid identified and vetted through Frido's NGO network, and the aid is delivered directly to that beneficiary.

2. Pricing and payment

  • The price shown for each aid on the Donate a Wheelchair page is the Donation Amount payable for that aid.
  • Donations are paid directly to the NGO partner processing the donation, and not to Frido. Frido does not collect, receive, or hold donation funds; Frido's role is limited to facilitating the donation on the Donate a Wheelchair page and coordinating delivery of the aid.
  • Every donation is a one-time contribution for a specific aid. There is no recurring or automatically renewing charge unless the donor separately chooses to donate again.

3. Tax Exemption (Section 80G)

Where the NGO partner processing a donation holds valid registration under Sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, it will issue a Section 80G tax-exemption certificate directly to the donor for the full Donation Amount, generally within 5 (five) business days of receipt of payment. Frido does not issue tax-exemption certificates; these are issued solely by the relevant NGO partner.

4. Beneficiary matching

  • In most cases, beneficiaries are matched to a donation by Frido's NGO partners based on urgency and need. Where a donor identifies a specific person or case, Frido will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request, but matching remains subject to NGO-partner assessment and availability.
  • Direct contact between Donor and beneficiary is not part of the standard process, in order to protect beneficiaries' privacy. Donor instead receive photo confirmation and an update on the impact of their donation.

5. NGO partners and vetting

  • Frido's lead NGO partners, together with the full list of onboarded partner organisations, are published on the Donate a Wheelchair page under “NGO Partners.” Each partner is vetted before joining the network.
  • Frido assesses each NGO's registration, track record and on-ground presence before onboarding it as a partner. Only vetted, verified NGOs may submit beneficiary profiles for donation.
  • Organisations may share their details through the “Are you an NGO? Partner with us” link on the Donate a Wheelchair page. Frido's CSR & NGO onboarding team will review the request and respond directly.

6. Delivery, servicing and timelines

Delivery timelines vary by product and location. An expected delivery window will be shared once the donation details are confirmed, and is provided as an estimate rather than a guaranteed date.

7. Cancellations and refunds

Donors who wish to raise concerns after submitting a donation should contact Frido's team as soon as possible, and Frido will coordinate with the relevant NGO partner. As donation funds are paid directly to, and held by, the NGO partner, any refund (where applicable, and only before an aid has been dispatched) is processed by the NGO partner. Once an aid has been dispatched, it generally cannot be recalled, cancelled or refunded.

8. Privacy

Donor contact, payment-related, and other personal information shall be used only to process the donation, complete the transaction, issue applicable tax-exemption certificates, deliver the aid, and fulfil obligations under or in relation to the relevant MOU. Such information may be shared with Frido, the NGO partner, the company/corporate donor where applicable, and any other concerned party strictly on a need-to-know basis. Each such party shall comply with applicable data protection laws in India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, and shall not use, disclose, transfer, or retain such information beyond what is necessary for these purposes.

9. Contact

Donors and companies may use either contact form on the Donate a Wheelchair page – individual / HNI or corporate/PSU - and Frido's team will follow up directly.

10. Precedence

These Terms & Conditions are issued subject to, and shall be read consistently with, the underlying memorandum of understanding or agreement executed between Frido and the relevant NGO partner governing the Donate a Wheelchair programme. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between these Terms & Conditions and such underlying agreement, the terms of the underlying agreement shall prevail to the extent of the conflict, and these Terms & Conditions shall be interpreted and applied accordingly.
